Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur under Calcutta University in 1970. Obtained the Calcutta University Gold Medal in 1970 for standing First in order of merit in the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Examinations. Graduateship in Operational Research (two years part-time postgraduate Management Science diploma) in 1975 from the Operational Research Society of India with Distinction. Stood first in order of merit in the final examinations. Fellow Member (FICWA M/5756) of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. Obtained the G. D. Mundhara Gold Medal from ICWAI in 1982. Completed the Final examination of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India in 1982. Master of Financial Management (MFM) from Annamalai University in 2007 in first class.

Worked as examiner/head examiner for the subjects “Factory Organization & Engineering”, “Production, Productivity and Cost Effectiveness”, “Quantitative Methods”, “Valuation Management and Case Study and Business Valuation Management” for fifteen years and presently associated as head examiner for the subject “Financial Analysis and Business Valuation” for the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. II.
